Men should shut up...

A Hawaiian Senator angrily exclaimed that, "Men should shut up..." in her defense of Dr. Blasey Ford. There is this current social trend among some women in which they believe that all men are predators and that the evils perpetrated on women by some men taints all men.  This class of women expect all men to "shut up" because they have judged all men as evil and unfit to speak about any charge against any man, especially those who are accused of heinous crimes against women.  The fact is when any of this class of women go to court, they must face the law of the land - all accused defendants are assumed innocent until proven guilty. And the standard of proof in a court of law is high.  So we hear a group of women, including a Senator who spout off on public television, their Socialist ideology, that the views of the few judge the individual and the majority without the presumption of innocence and without due process in a court of law.  Judge Thomas sai...

The Joy of You Tube

Today I watched an entire hour of Western Truck and Tractor Repair, out of California, on You Tube.  Why? When you are raised on a farm and your father is a certified mechanic, you get involved in such work.  But I am not so mechanically inclined. I did not inherit my dad's genes in this regard. I recognize that the logic behind repair is in the infinite number of functions of the myriad pieces on a tractor that one must hold in one's head. That just isn't me.  Warren is the mechanic and he is simply brilliant. He remembers it all, he uses perfect logic in his diagnosis and his work encompasses mechanical, electrical, computer, hydraulic and air conditioning problems.  Most often the equipment is not serviced well, serviced incorrectly or repaired without the proper parts. This creates additional problem solving challenges, but Warren overcomes all of the problems. Most amazing is that nothing stops this man in his work. So his clients are so lucky. He dogg...

High Over Head

High Over Head Sweltering humid heat From a blistering sun High over head Chases one to the shade Or inside for a cold glass of water Or to the nearest water To dunk the body Cool the head Escape liquid air in a sea Diving under with the fishes And being copied by the pelicans Splashing in from above for food Despite sweltering humid heat That chases the clothing Off women’s bodies Heat that forces Them to walk bare skinned Cloaked only in airy cover ups Moving along Hot sand or hot cement To cook their skin on the beach Or to breath again In the crowded Cool supermarket Avoiding the Sweltering humid heat Or basting in it And seniors choose The cooler moments In the shadows of morning To crawl and Wade in warm pools And exercise limbs while Hiding from the Blistering sun Not yet, High over head To soak up the warmth Of crystal blue water To limber and loosen To breathe outside air For a ti...

In the Spotlight of the Senate

Tonight, in the spotlight of the Senate we find two individuals caught in the cameras and comments of the media. What does this do to such people? What is the cost of such commitment to their ideals? What is the true power of the Senate as it relates to these two people?  Justice Kavanaugh is pursuing an attempt to become a Justice of the Supreme Court. In his attempt he faces the claim that he committed attempted rape. His accuser, Professor Christine Blasey Ford, after 35 years has publicly attached Kavanaugh's name with an attempted rape on her.  The trial is being held in the court of public opinion with the media acting out the roles of attorneys. The judge is the American public.  Ford has received death threats but is still willing to testify to the Senate if the proceeding can be fair, by her standard, not by the Senate standard.  I wonder which is fairer, her standard or the Senate's standard. Does she know something more than the American public does?...

The Tenants 1

The Tenants 1 The TENANTS 2 was my first blurb about the abuse of Latin American TENANTS who rent the condo above mine. I own mine. Therein lies the problem. You know from the previous blurb that a dog in their unit urinated all over my condo balcony and things did not go well for the TENANTS. The story really begins sometime in December of 2017 after we had purchased the unit and moved in. It was a tough time for us as we had moved out of our daughter's home where we were for 6 weeks while she was 9 months pregnant and finally delivered a healthy granddaughter. But it was getting more difficult because we were living in floor removal and floor installation hell . But that is another story to be told later.  During this floor installation time I was hiding out in the bedroom (which has a door on it and a master bathroom attached to it) for privacy. My wife was out at a religious meeting. I heard what i thought was someone knocking on a door and lots of loud voices.  ...

Abuse by Priests

Abuse by Priests: I am a protestant (small p) in that I am married to a Catholic and attend Mass with my spouse.  I have more than my share of comments from my spouse about the abuses by Priests. I must begin by saying it is abhorrent and  evil that these Priests abused adults and children. I am somewhat perplexed though by my spouse who is a person deeply steeped in her faith and very loyal to the church.  What perplexes me? I am perplexed by how my spouse can be so deep in her faith, attend Mass daily, follow an outline of spiritual exercises on an hour by hour basis and be so angry at the Pope, some Cardinals and some Bishops. I understand the anger over such inhumanity to parishioners by the priests who abused them. The Pope should get them all out of the church and be a holy Christian warrior and faithful human leader to his flock. But this is not the case and I see the faithful shaken to their cores, their faith rocked by such evil.  And this is per...

The Tenants 2

Today began unusually.  The TENANTS in the condo above me invited a guest and dog over for the night. Their action violates the condo board rules.  How did I find this out?  The hard way. I set out this morning to let my dog out onto the balcony to look around. We call it doggy TV.  I noticed a pool of moisture on the balcony deck on the south end. The glass wall was wet and streamlets were leading to the wet glass. Then I noticed yellow droplets on the balcony rail. Looking up, to no surprise, I found yellow droplets clinging from the balcony ceiling ( the floor of the upstairs neighbor).  The TENANT neighbors' guest's dog urinated on their balcony and therefore defiled my balcony.  My wife called downstairs and they sent the rover to investigate. It turned out to be true and they apologized to the management person.  So end of story.   Not.  In subsequent emails to the property manager I learned that the TENANTS would be ...
