At this point it is clear that this is not and editorial board but rather a chummy group of low IQ friends who clap themselves on the backs for their brilliance.  Someone warn them to get out of the way of danger because they won't know it until it hits them upside the face.

Abuse by Priests: I am a protestant (small p) in that I am married to a Catholic and attend Mass with my spouse.  I have more than my share of comments from my spouse about the abuses by Priests. I must begin by saying it is abhorrent and  evil that these Priests abused adults and children. I am somewhat perplexed though by my spouse who is a person deeply steeped in her faith and very loyal to the church.  What perplexes me? I am perplexed by how my spouse can be so deep in her faith, attend Mass daily, follow an outline of spiritual exercises on an hour by hour basis and be so angry at the Pope, some Cardinals and some Bishops. I understand the anger over such inhumanity to parishioners by the priests who abused them. The Pope should get them all out of the church and be a holy Christian warrior and faithful human leader to his flock. The Feast of the Epiphany - Reflections

2019 1/6 Just a few thoughts in the Feast of the Epiphany - 3 Kings Day The Gospel of Matthew reading for today is of the 3 wise men from the East who followed the bright star that was the sign of the birth of the new Jewish King. Whomever these wise men were, sages, astrologers , historians or futurists, they were knowledgeable and intelligent. They were also wealthy. They traveled into a foreign land just to pay homage to the new king. But they traveled through  Herod's land. Herod was the  Roman ruler reigning over the Jewish land. So they traveled with some degree of uncertainty about the land and their safety in it. The star led these  wise men.    How is it that we find in the birth narrative three wealthy foreign kings following a bright star?  Their wisdom told them much that they could believe in traveling after this star.  But this was not so uncommon as fishermen and overland traders all had stars to guide them on their journeys, if ...

If I weren't such a chicken

If I weren't such a chicken... So many areas of my life fall under this title.  In fact, if I weren't such a chicken, my writing would be available to so many more people. I hide it from my wife. I don't want to be chastised for what I write. I don't want to edit my thoughts. I want my thoughts to end up on the page, unchanged by others. And I am a chicken because I am afraid my thoughts would be shot down in the public forum.  For decades I have sought a public medium in which I could vent in a safe way. Now I have this medium for expressing myself. If I weren't such a chicken, I could be on television speaking about these thoughts, trying to get others to see the logic of my wisdom and to know the face of the mind behind these thoughts.
